My name is Mary Hawkins. I am certified in English/Language Arts (Grades 5-12), and I have a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education with a strong emphasis on curriculum and instruction. I am very active with National Writing Project on the national, state, and local levels.
My husband and I both graduated from Logan High School as did both of our sons, Jamie and Carl. I have been teaching since 1989. I teach English in the room where I had biology when I was in tenth grade. My educational endeavors have come full circle; I ended my high school days here and (hopefully) will end my teaching career at Logan HIgh School. When I graduated, I would never have believed that one day I would be back in the same halls and classrooms from my high school days. I have many fond memories of those years and am now creating additional memories with my tenth and eleventh grade students.
Throughout the year, please visit my blog for assignments and due dates. There will be a wealth of material posted that will help both parents and students.
There are several things that I enjoy doing in my spare time: reading (professional books on theory and practice and the Holocaust), scrapbooking, and photography.
